Deciphering and Copying Set of DS1977
The set is used to decipher the passwords of DS1977, and to read and write DS1977 after deciphering its passwords.
Attention: Only connecting the set with your equipment which will access the DS1977, you could decipher the password by the set. You could not decipher any password if you have only DS1977.

Save password and data, by nonvolatile memory
Connect the set with personal computer to download or upload data by USB port

2. Basic Operation
After power on, the set displays as follows:
Pressing ENTER, the set displays as follows. And then, pressing 1~4, select the corresponding function.
Function 1(1.ROM): Read or write or edit ROM of DS1977/simulator
Function 2(2:PASSWORD):View the passwords saved in the set
Function 3(3:MEMORY):Edit the data of memory in the set, read or write DS1977
Function 4(4:CRACK):Decipher password
2.1 ROM operation(1.ROM)
ROM(Read Only Memory), is unmodified 64bit unique serial number(UID) saved in an iButton.
In this menu, we could read or edit or save the ROM of the iButton inserted in the socket.
Attention: at anytime, there is only one DS1977 (a real DS1977 or simulator).
1. Read ROM: Read the ROM of DS1977 or simulator of DS1977
Inserting a DS1977 into the socket of iButton, pressing 1, the ROM of the DS1977 is read and saved in the set.
2. Write sim_ROM: Write the ROM saved in the set into a simulator of DS1977.
Power the simulator of DS1977 on, and then insert the simulator into the socket of iButton, after pressing 2, the ROM is written into the simulator.
3. EDIT: Edit the ROM saved in the set.
Pressing DEL/ENTER, return to the superior menu.
2.2 Password operation(2.PASSWORD)
View of edit the passwords.
In the above Fig, the front 4 characters of line 1 means:
READ: The password is read-only password
FULL: The password is full access password
RorF: Unknown, it may be read-only password or full access password.
Please view the sheet of DS1977. DS1977 has two types of passwords, read-only password and full access password.
UP: View password up
DOWN: View password down
0: Clear all passwords saved in the set
ENTER: Select the password of the cursor as read or write DS1977
Attention: Before reading or writing a DS1977, we must adopt a password according to the features of DS1977. If you have not adopted a password before reading or writing a DS1977, the access must be unsuccessful. If you want to adopt a password from the passwords saved in the set, you ought to select the password in this menu. But if you want to input a password by yourself, please input your password in the menu of "1. SET PW", please view "2.3.1 Setup password (1.SET PW)".
2.3 Memory operation(3.MEMORY)
Read or write or edit the data and passwords in the memory of the set.
2.3.1 Setup password(1.SET PW)
Set a password to read or write DS1977. The password input by yourself will be adopted to read or write DS1977, and not be saved in the set. So, if you need not to input own password, you need not to setup here.
2.3.2 View data (2.VIEW)
View the data saved in the set in the menu. All of the data are not lost when power off . If you want to edit the data, please refer "2.3.4.1 Edit data(1.EDIT)".
LINE: It is the number of line viewed, 8 bytes are displayed on the screen.
0-9: You could modify "LINE" by input 0-4095, and then the data will be displayed.
UP: Increase "LINE"
DOWN: Decrease "LINE"
2.3.3 Read data of a DS1977(3.READ)
Read data from a DS1977 if you have adopted a password. Please view "2.2 Password operation(2.PASSWORD)" and "2.3.1 Setup password(1.SET PW)"
After inserting DS1977 into the socket of iButton, press 3(3.READ) to read the data of DS1977 and the data will be saved in the set.
2.3.4 Write data into DS1977(4.WRITE)
Write the data saved in the set into the DS1977 if you have adopted a password. Please view "2.2 Password operation(2.PASSWORD)" and "2.3.1 Setup password(1.SET PW)"
2.3.4.1 Edit password and data to be written into DS1977(1.EDIT)
Edit or modify the data and password in the set.
2.3.4.1.1 Edit password(1. EDIT NEW PW)
Edit the password, which will be write into DS1977 when you "clone" it, please refer "2.3.4.1 Clone the all of data into DS1977(2. CLONE)".
Select 1 or 2, you could edit read-only password or full access password respectively.
2.3.4.1.1.1 Edit read-only password(1.R_PW)
Pressing UP or DOWN, you could view the passwords saved in the set. Pressing ENTER, the password will be selected. The password will be written into DS1977 after you "clone" it. And the password will be used as the read-only password of the DS1977.
2.3.4.1.1.2 Edit full access password(2.F_PW)
Pressing UP or DOWN, you could view the passwords saved in the set. Pressing ENTER, the password will be selected. The password will be written into DS1977 after you "clone" it. And the password will be used as the full access password of the DS1977.
2.3.4.1.1.3 Enable or disable DS1977 password checking(3:EN_or_DISABLE)
Enable or disable DS1977 password checking function.
If we setup the EPW of DS1977 as AAh (please view the data sheet of DS1977), DS1977 will check the password when it is read or written.
1. ENABLE: Enable DS1977 password checking function.
2. DISABLE: Disable DS1977 password checking function.
Attention: Only after you operate CLONE, DS1977 is changed according the above setting ( enable or disable DS1977 password checking).
2.3.4.1.2 Edit data(2. EDIT DATA)
Edit the data, which will be written into DS1977 when you "clone" it, please refer "2.3.4.1 Clone the all of data into DS1977(2. CLONE)".
LINE is the number of line edited, 8 bytes are displayed on the screen. When the character on "LINE" is flashing, you could input the data (0-4095) to select the line to be edited.
Press ENTER, when the character is flashing, the data could be modified by input 0~F.
When "DelEsc" is displayed on the screen, press DEL to return to the upper menu.
2.3.4.2 Clone the all of data into DS1977(2. CLONE)
Please adopted a password firstly, viewing"2.2 Password operation(2.PASSWORD)" and "2.3.1 Setup password(1.SET PW)").
After inserting DS1977 into the socket of iButton, press 2(2.CLONE) to write the data and password and EPW ( please view 2.3.4.1.1.3 Enable or disable DS1977 password checking(3:EN_or_DISABLE)) in the set into the DS1977.
2.4 Decipher password(4.CRACK)
Connecting the red clip and the black clip to the line (1-wire) and ground of the socket of DS1977 of your equipment respectively, press 4, and then make your equipment work. After your equipment accesses the DS1977, press "ENTER" to exit the deciphering. And then, you could press "2.PASSWORD" to view passwords deciphered by the set.
3. Software
You could double click the icon of the software for DS1977, the next interface will be displayed on the screen:
Select serial port and then open it.
UPLOAD and Save File: Upload the data in the set into your computer. The data uploaded will be saved in a text file.
Open File and DOWNLOAD: Open a file and download it into the set.
4. Application
There are two modes of application.
Data recovery mode:
When you get a new hand-piece with a DS1977, you could decipher the password, then save all data. When the DS1977 is used up, you write the all data saved by you into the DS1977 so that the DS1977 could be used again in other equipment.
The operation of data recovery mode:
decipher password -> read data and save data
After the DS1977 is used up, you could rewrite data (saved by you) into the DS1977.
Simulator mode:
When you get a new hand-piece with a DS1977, you could decipher the password, then save all data. And then, you could write the all data saved by you into the simulator of DS1977.
The operation of simulator mode:
decipher password -> read data and save data -> write UID(ROM) into the simulator ->write data saved by you into simulator of DS1977
4.1 Application of data recovery mode
4.1.1 Decipher password
Before reading or writing a DS1977, we must adopt the password. So we have to decipher the password before we want to read or write a DS1977.
Step1 Connect the red clip to the signal line (1-wire, red line normally) of the socket of DS1977 of your equipment, and connect the black clip to the ground(GND, black line normally) of the socket of DS1977 of your equipment.
Step2 Under the main menu, press "4.CRACK" to start deciphering password.
Step3 Make your equipment work till the shots has been displayed.
Step4 Press ENTER to stop deciphering.
Step 5 Press 2.PASSWORD to view the password deciphered by you.
4.1.2 Read data
Step1 Under the main menu, next menu will be displays, press "2.PASSWORD"to select password.
Step2 Select a password and adopt it as read-only password or full access password.
UP: View password up
DOWN: View password down
ENTER: Select the password of the cursor as read or write DS1977
Step3 Press 3(3.MEMORY)
Step4 Insert DS1977 into any one of two sockets of iButton. Press 3 ( 3.READ ) to read the data from the DS1977 to the memory of the set.
Attention: You could put only one iButton on the socket, one DS1977 or one the simulator, must not put two DS1977s or one DS1977 and a simulator.
4.1.3 Clone
Step1 Under the main menu, next menu will be displays, press "2.PASSWORD"to select password.
If the DS1977 is a new one, you could go to step 3 directly because the password of the DS1977 has not been opened..
If the DS1977 is not a new one, you must set the password as the next step because the password of the DS1977 must been opened.
Step2 Select a password and adopt it as full access password.
UP: View password up
DOWN: View password down
ENTER: Select the password of the cursor as read or write DS1977
Step3 Press 3(3.MEMORY)
Step4 Insert the DS1977 into any one of two sockets of iButton, and then press 4(4.WRITE).
Step5 Press 1(1.EDIT)
Step6 Press 1(1.EDIT NEW PW)
Step7 Press 2(2.F_PW)
Step8 Edit the new password ( Attention: Do this only if you want to change your password)
Step9 Press ENTER 3 times till to the next menu.
Step10 Press 2.CLONE to clone the all data (including password and data and EPW) into the DS1977.
4.2 Application of Simulator mode
4.2.1 Decipher password
Before reading or writing a DS1977, we must adopt the password. So we have to decipher the password before we want to read or write a DS1977.

4.2.3 Write UID(ROM) into the simulator
Please refer "2.1 ROM operation(1.ROM)".
Step1 Insert the DS1977 into the socket.
Attention: at anytime, there is only one DS1977 (a real DS1977 or a simulator).
Step2 Press 1 to read the UID(ROM)
Step3 Connect the simulator with the set.
Step4 Press 2 to write the ROM saved in the set into the simulator.
4.2.4 Write the data into a DS1977
Step1 Under the main menu, next menu will be displays, press "2.PASSWORD"to select password.
If the DS1977 is a new one, you could go to step 3 directly because the password of the DS1977 has not been opened..
If the DS1977 is not a new one, you must set the password as the next step because the password of the DS1977 must been opened.
Step2 Select a password and adopt it as full access password.

DOWN: View password down
ENTER: Select the password of the cursor as read or write DS1977
Step3 Press 3(3.MEMORY)

Step9 Press ENTER 3 times till to the next menu.
Step10 Press 2.CLONE to clone the all data (including password and data and EPW) into the DS1977.
4.2.5 Insert the DS1977 into the simulator
After you insert the DS1977 into the simulator, the simulator could be used.
When the DS1977 is used up, you could write another \new DS1977 or rewrite the same DS1977. If you rewrite the same DS1977, please notice its password because the DS1977 is not a new one again
